Main Source - Breaking Atoms 2LP (Remastered)

Wild Pitch

Sold out.

There are many acts in hip-hop who never received their proper due including Black Sheep, Tha Alkaholiks, Masta Ace, and more. Also landing in that lot is the group Main Source. Originally comprised of Toronto DJs and producers, Sir Scratch and K-Cut, and Queens MC and producer Large Professor, Main Source not only changed the game with their cutting edge samples and smooth wordplay, they were also responsible for exposing future legends like Nas and The LOX by giving them their first official appearances on wax.

Although the group went through some changes with Queens MC Mikey D eventually replacing Large Pro, their impact on hip-hop is indelible. The group's legendary debut Breaking Atoms hit shelves with a bang in 1991. Their holistic approach to sampling jazz and soul records here was refreshing and their lyrics melt like butter throughout. Most will remember it for Nas' appearance on "Live at the Barbeque," but there are several more gems to uncover for the uninitiated on this new 25th anniversary remastered edition

  1. Snake Eyes
  2. Just Hangin' Out
  3. Looking At The Front Door
  4. Large Professor
  5. Just A Friendly Game Of Baseball
  6. Scratch & Kut
  7. Peace Is Not The Word To Play
  8. Vamos A Rapiar
  9. He Got So Much Soul (He Don't Need No Music)
  10. Live At The Barbeque
  11. Watch Roger Do His Thing
